Every Wednesday night I run with my friend, Jill.
She holds me accountable to get my butt out the door no matter how cold, snowy, rainy, or blazing hot it is.
Without her, I wouldn’t do it.
Every Thursday night I go to the gym to lift with my partner, Darren.
Most Thursday nights I’m tired and left to my own devices would open a bottle of wine, eat some cheese, and settle into my corner spot on the couch to watch B-rated movies.
Darren holds me accountable to go to the gym, even when I’m tired.
In the SHED program Rachael, Liz, and Sonya send each other a text each morning to get out of bed and get their workout in.
Prior to their agreement to support each other, they’d come to the coaching calls complaining about how they can’t seem to motivate themselves to exercise.
Now, they celebrate their winning streak by holding each other accountable.
I’m telling you this because I don’t want you to underestimate the power of having someone to keep you accountable.
Think about how many times you’ve bailed on yoga, riding the peloton, taking a walk, or going to the gym. A lot right?
You’d never do that if your friend was waiting for you.
You’d feel terrible!
You need someone to help hold you accountable until you’re able to do it on your own.
I’m going to provide this for you.
In the 28-day movement challenge, we are ALL going to hold each other accountable to move our bodies for 7 minutes a day.
Think 7 minutes is a joke? You’d be surprised how challenging it actually is.
Because it’s not the 7 minutes that’s the hard part. The hard part is to do it every single day.
The hard part is blocking time on your calendar.
The hard part is saying “not right now” to your kids so you can go work out.
The hardest part is obeying yourself and honoring your commitments.
And that’s where you need accountability.
And we are going to give it to you inside the 28 days for $28.00 movement challenge.
If you’re tired of saying you want to work out but not doing it, stop what you’re doing and join right now.
We begin on February 1st.
See you there!
